About me
I am a service designer and design researcher with living in Perth, UK. I pursued a career in design as my interests lie in improving healthcare and public sector services. I completed a masters degree in design for healthcare in 2023 and have just finished a graduate role within a public sector design consultancy's Design Academy, which saw me in a junior role learning design research and service design in public sector improvement contracts. I'm now looking for new and exciting opportunities in this sector.
My Story
Prior to working in design, this I was a senior healthcare assistant for 20 years, mostly in self employed or agency. This experience has given me a broad understanding of front-line healthcare, including the problems with how their services are delivered and the effects it has on the end users. I initially completed an honours degree in physical product design in the hope of creating accessibility equipment but realised I could broaden my knowledge in design and apply this to services. My masters showed how design research can uncover the needs of users to influence effective service redesign. Since then I have been working as a junior service designer and designer researcher in a public sector redesign consultancy, covering a broad range of service redesign initiatives.
